오늘 저녁을 준비해 놓고 다섯 식구가 둘러 앉았는데,

주영이가 "기도, 기도!" 하면서 "Me! Me" 하며 소리를 쳤습니다.

자기가 배고프다니까 아빠가 와서 빨리 식사 기도를 해달라는 것인 줄알았는데,

주영이 눈을 보니, 자기가 기도 하겠다는 뜻이었습니다.

그래서 기도를 하라고 했습니다.

방언같은 알수 없는 말로 기도를 시작했습니다.

제가 알아들을 수 있었던 말은

'아빠, 엄마, 형, 선영' 등의 이름이었습니다.

알아 들을 수 없는 말의 기도는 계속이어졌습니다.

얼마가 지났는지 모르지만, 주여이가 '아멘' 한 것 같아서 나도 '아멘'하고 눈을 떴더니

주영이가 쑥스러운 눈으로 쳐다 보고 있었습니다.

아내와 저는, '잘 했다, 주영아!' 칭찬해 주었습니다.

오늘은 아주 기쁜 날입니다.

After setting the dinner, five of us sat around the table.

Since Jooyoung was screeming out "Daddy! Daddy! Me! Me!", I thought he was very hungry and wanted me to do the grace quickly.

As I looked at his eyes, I could tell he wanted to pray for the meal. When I said, "Go ahead", he started praying words of grace, which I could not understand excpet the names of us, "Daddy, Mommy, Big brother, Sunny..."

I don't know how long he continued. I was waiting him to say "Amen."  But he just kept spewing out unintelligible words.

Finally, when I heard a word that sounded like 'Amen', I said "Amen" and others followed.

Jooyoung looked shy. My wife and I said, "You did a good job!"

Today is one of the happiest days of my life.
